Abstract

The influence of artificial intelligence on organization and functioning of the modern labor market is increasing, which raises serious questions of the stability of the labor market, its performance, and its flexibility. This paper has examined the correlation between various levels of artificial intelligence acceptance and employment relations and economic outcomes using a carefully structured data of 2,000 workers. Trends in terms of technological, employment and economic variables were assessed in terms of a cross-sectional and descriptive approach of analysis. These findings showed that majority of the workers were either exposed to no or modified job description and relatively low number of workers were exposed to loss of job. Higher prevalence rates of artificial intelligence application were associated with higher prevalence rates of job change and a rather low average productivity gain. However, the productivity outcomes were not uniform, which meant that there was a difference in different jobs. The job satisfaction was moderate, which means that there was an ambivalent attitude towards technological integration. In addition, the upskilling requirements were also discovered to be universal irrespective of the level of adoption of the adoption indicating that workforce adaptation is not a phenomenon, but rather a more of a general one. The results highlight the reality that artificial intelligence is a source of pace in labor change which can be summarized as reorganization of roles, performance variability, and lifelong competencies. These lessons underscore the importance of being adaptable and learning to stay afloat in the work environment amid the evolving technological scenes.
